Double edition of Great Game tonight. How these two 6versus6 matches went? Well, let’s check it out right now.
vs. MIPC2
Finland vs. Finland. The match we have been waiting for whole season. We have played couple practice matches against them and I think we have won most of the games. I was excepting a tight match and that we got.
Earlier today I was really nervous and all excited about this game. I wanted to win so badly. I wanted to show that our team was better! All my energy went for this single game. And that wasn’t the best idea.
First map was 5 CP map Bazillion, which isn’t popular map currently and also many teams hate it for some reason. Because of that crap, it’s hard to get opponent who wants to play this. We like the map, but I wish we could have played it bit more, but every season there is this one map you cannot practice enough because it’s not popular. :(
Our game had a bit rough start, but we picked up the pace quickly after the first round that we lost really quickly. Then we took 2 rounds rather easily and then the adrenalin started to kick in and my hands were shaking wildly. My head was feeling rather dizzy and in the end, I felt that it was because of my bad calls as a leader that we lost the map. ( Still feeling really unsatisfied in my actions. :(( )
I wanted to push when we should have just defended. We were too aggressive on some parts and died because of that and the enemy team got rather easy points because of those little mistakes. The part that made me really rage was during the last 1-1:30 minutes. The situation was 2-2 and I didn’t want draw. I wanted to win so badly. I was shaking and cursing. I couldn’t breath. It was so intense match. But then I made my biggest mistake; I called that we need to push right away from last point and go super aggressive. Most of us died because of that and in the end it was impossible to defend the last point and the enemy team capped to last just before the time stopped. The rage. The RAGE. I think I might have broken couple clan mate’s ears because I accidentally yelled PERKELE as loudly as possible in Mumble when everyone else were simply quiet. :S I was so frustrated because of that stupid mistake I made, but the match wasn’t over yet.

The second map was good ol’ Badlands. <3 I had to calm down and forget our previous lost and focus on this map. I got myself back in ‘the zone’ and was playing much more relaxed than before. And we started rolling the game. We got 4 points, 4 POINTS, in 10 minutes. It felt awesome! It was a huge boost for the whole team but especially for me and I could forget my bad mistake from last map.
We were ready to call it a day and take the last cap, but the enemy team showed their true potential and started playing really aggressive and started to push back. That blow us from our track a bit, but they weren’t controlling the whole situation, even though they capped managed to cap 3 points. We managed to took one more point after that. And after that it was rather passive play and defence from us. There wasn’t much time on the clock and we need to played smartly and made the enemy team use their energy on choke points and waste time.
We managed to hold our position till the end. And the final score was 5-3 for us. And the whole score of the match was draw. It could have gone better, but we tried our best and that was enough for us. :)

vs. Who Dares Wins
Here’s a quick recap of the game.
Right after MIPC2, we had a another official match against some Russians. We knew we would win easily these guys since they had lost every match this season, but that doesn’t mean we should take this game too easily. You never know what comes in your way…
First map was… dun dun dun… Badlands, again. Yay! <3
I was mentally exhausted from the previous game and wasn’t having my best game. I think the whole team was taking this game bit more relaxed attitude and didn’t really care what happened. Only problem we really had was these damn Russian Scouts. These little fuckers. These double jumping mofos, who were aggressive as hell and taking our Medic down faster than I could say PERKELE! But true star of the show was our Scout. He was on the top fragger the whole game. Russian asked after then game that did he hack of something. :D
I think it was first time, someone on our team had more points than our Medic. He was a beast and carrying our team with is super 1337 Sniper kills. “Demo took headshot.” “Soldier down.” “Medic down.” That was all I could sometimes hear. It was amazing. Because of that, the rest our team’s jobs were rather easy. Push and take points since everyone was dead. In the end our Medic had 80 points and he had 76. 76 points! I think he had almost 50 kills. He must had been cheating or something. ;D Anyways, the final score was (thanks to our beast Sniper), 4-2 for us. Heh. Take that you double jumpers!

Second map of this match and final map with our current line-up was custom 5 CP map; Gullywash_Pro. Last time we played this, exactly 2 weeks ago, we took a heavy beating on it and lost 0-5 and I was bit worried that we might not have our shits together on this map. Thank God I’m often wrong!
It was a cake walk for us. Our carry Scout was taking this map more relaxed and went couple times Spy. We don’t often do that, especially our Scout, who more likely plays Sniper. And he had couple beautiful backstabs on the poor enemy Medic who had a 100% uber and everything. Nice work! And then he was just toying with the enemy team and playing Pyro. I was forced to play really passive this map since my right wrist started to hurt right in the middle of match. It was terrible, but I managed to survive the whole match. There was a one moment when the enemy team where acting like assholes. Our Medic’s game crashed in middle of the map and I asked that could we pause the game. No response! Nothing. Well, I know why they didn’t allow that. Simply because they hated me because I didn’t agree to play the game 30 minutes later and they were pissed about that. But our ‘super’ Scout took Medic and we managed to push with only 5 players and managed to secure a capture point until our Medic joined back in the game. That was really unsportsmanlike from the enemy team, but it didn’t affect our game, so it really didn’t matter. We freaking won the match 5-0 and that what matters! :D

And these two matches where our last games in ETF2L Season 9 in Division 5D.
Our final position in this season was: 3rd place!

Not bad, not bad at all. :D
We lost 2 maps against n2o + 1 map to MIPC2 also 1 map to Time 4 Fisting. We didn’t secure a 100% sure spot for Division 4, but I’m confident we can still get a promotion. We just need to some proof that we can handle div 4 teams. We have played lots of games against div 4 teams and taken them easily, so it really should be a problem. It was a really good season, but sadly we need to say goodbye to couple of our players. Our ‘super’ Scout has lost interested in the game, even though he is a beast player and our second Soldier is leaving because of Summer and shit. Our Medic will change his class back to Soldier and will be spamming rockets with me again (Yay!). Which means we need to find a Finnish Scout and Medic players to get a full team up and running. It’s not easy since Finland is such a small country, but we have always found players to join our team, and I’m sure we will find again. We are not looking for skilled players, we are looking for players who have friendly personality to fit in our team. We all ready have couple trials for couple dudes, so looking forward to that.
It was a fun season and it went really well. But I’m glad that it’s over. We can relax little bit and play some 7versus7 (mini-highlander) in Wireplay. I get to play Medic and the maps are nothing but Payload and King of the Hill maps, which aren’t never played in 6v6 completive games. That should be interesting. :D
I will write something about our 7v7 adventures. But now, I need to get some sleep. I should have been bed over hour ago.
Great Game, Well Played. 8)
